Brief History
The individual founders of BAOBAB STRONG have a history of working to assist vulnerable populations. We have provided leadership in the building of desperately needed schools, provided nursing care for poverty stricken people in remote regions and initiated projects to assist the indigent elderly and the urban homeless. The founders came together in 2014 to form BAOBAB STRONG as a nonprofit organization in order to accelerate their ability to strengthen people living in poverty through charitable donations.
Our Major Goal
The objective of BAOBAB STRONG is to improve the lives of people living in poverty. We strengthen those in impoverished areas of the world by enabling access to education, healthcare, water, sanitation, energy, and income opportunities. We also perform charitable outreach to especially underprivileged people.

Significance of the BAOBAB STRONG name & logo
We chose the Baobab (pronounced bay-oh-bab) tree for our name and logo as a symbol of strength and endurance. The baobab is known as the “Tree of Life” for good reason. The distinct trees are a symbol of strength, as they live for thousands of years and grow to become massive, even in harsh conditions. Baobab trees hold substantial amounts of water in their trunk and bear nutritious fruit, which is high in vitamin C and antioxidants. People and wildlife alike have used the tree for shelter, water, nutrition, and even traditional African medicines. We are inspired by this symbol of community support.
